One of my favourite galleries in New York's Tribeca - Espasso is currently exhibiting a collection of works by 82 year old Brazilian architect Sergio Rodrigues. Espasso's commitment to South American design makes it the perfect place to showcase the historical work of the great architect.

SonUmbra Solar Powered Tree

Claire Sullivan - Thursday, October 01, 2009

Composed of strands of light emitting fabric woven into a lucent web of branches, the SonUmbra solar powered tree offers up the perfect solution to energy efficient lighting for public spaces. The sonic shade of light is intended to be planted in remote areas, where it offers shelter from the sun by day and serves as a gathering place for the local community at night.

Zaha Hadid Triflow Faucet

Claire Sullivan - Thursday, October 01, 2009

Looking more like a serpent than a faucet, Zaha Hadid's new Triflow tap offers up quite a lot in terms of features. The three-way tap allows drinking water to be delivered through a waterway that is separate from the hot and cold water flow.
