If you're planning a trip to the Black Sea this (northern hemisphere) summer, you may want to stay at The Pipe House.  A weekend get-away retreat by Butenko Vasiliy and Sergey Mahno,  is located along the Black sea, just at the edge of the Crimean Mountains of the Ukraine. Planned as an oasis for rest and relaxation, the house has been divided into zones by opaque and translucent screens, allowing the user flexibility in shading the sun, creating privacy, and blocking off areas when entertaining guests.

What at first glance looks like a new creation from designer Maarten Bas known for his slightly wonky design aethetic, is in fact the art project Panpaati or 'Eating Design' by the Spanish artist and designer Enoc Armengol. With each item made from baked bread we are curious as to the sturdiness of the design, but still amused none the less.

The Parallel chair by designer Gwenael Nicolas of Curiosity Inc has a foldable seat which allows many of them to stack together for easy storage.

This extraordinary object is composed of an algorithmically-derived mass of writhing nudes that recalls the classic motif of The Fall of the Damned. The lampshade appears as a hovering mass of ornaments, opulent and bombastic. When looked at from closer point of view it dissolves into single bodies, which are twisted in fear and seem to be frozen in falling.

The stunning RGB Vase by Oscar Diaz is based in the original RGB colour system and is comprised of three 50cm tall pieces that sit within one another.

I visited the incredible Galerie Van Der Straeten in Paris several years ago, and was immediately obsessed. French furniture designer Hervé Van der Straeten makes all of his unique pieces with his own hand, creating bold forms by using innovative materials with an exquisite execution. Inspired by the work of Spanish architect Santiago Calatrva, Sarajevo designer Tea Petrovic has created a collection of awe inspiring shoes to add to the increasing collection of sculptural architectural shoes we've been hoarding here at Design Folio.

Japanese designer Tojukin Yoshioka will exhibit a glass window made of 500 crystal prisms at the forthcoming Museum exhibtion.  The eight meter high installation will create rainbows within the space as the light is refracted. It sounds beautiful.

There'll be no messing with me in the boardroom when I arrive for power meetings with my Guardian Angel bag. Business will get done my way. Finally.
