Designed by Alfredo Häberli the Aki chair and table were launched by Danish manufacturers Fredericia at the Milan Fair. Characterised by the single wooden "back-bone" that defines it's structure, which is flanked by soft and comfortable fabric cushions. All making for a striking and unique chair.

Pull and Pull-Over Lamp by e27

With a base made from a 25 mm thick stainless steel disc which is laser cut and then stretched to it's standing height of 2 meters. Available in two models, the Pull-Over version has a stretch fabric that covers the stand.

New from Driade at the Milan Fair, the Hotbox is designed by Miki Astori. Interior drawers and shelves are constructed in ebonised teak, while the curved exterior is encased in ebonised aluminium silver.

1979 Porsche Motorcycle Concept

Way back in the late 1970's German car manufacturers Porsche, were already considering the impact of excessive fuel consuption and the environmental impact caused by high powered cars. Their Motorcycle Study project high-lighted the motorcycle’s superiority in energy use. The resulting prototype considered comfort, safety and protection from mud and water rather than the usual fascination with speed associated with Porsche. Which is probably why they never made it into production.



Zap Chair by Källemo

Stockholm based designer Nils-Ole Zib launched his new Zap Chair for Källemo at this year's Milan Fair. A chrome steel frame supports the compressed moulded ash seat, and has vibration dampers making the chair noiseless.

Inspired by the lifestyle surrounding the retro-glam scene of Paris in the 80's, the Divine Chair takes it's cues from the poise and glamour of Parisian chic.

Each limited edition piece takes at least 19 hours to construct by hand, using the skills of classic french craftsmen. Aiming specifically at the collectors and investors market, pieces from the collection can also be customised using a number of precious materials.

Alessandro Mendini for Byblos Casa

Italian fashion house Byblos have added a limited edition furniture collection to their range. Designed by in-house creative director Alessandro Mendini, the collection takes classical lines and blends them with vibrant upholstery and paint.  The pieces bring to mind a Memphis design take on styles favoured by Marie Antoinette and various kings named Louis.

Plopp Stool by Hay

Polish designer Oskar Zieta has designed the Plopp stool for Hay. Formed by two welded together sheets of metal that are filled with liquid under pressure, give the resulting stool the look of inflatable furniture.

The production process means each lightweight but stable stool has a unique shape and look.

The Fendi Casa Crystal Chair features a multi-faceted  lacquered polyurethane shell, with a seat cushion that's available in either fabric or leather.
