A serious amount of work has gone into these suspended and mounted plant sculptures. In an exhibition titled 'Collapsible Leaves', Japanese botanic artist Azuma Makoto has painstakingly worked with a single leaf at a time, cutting, folding and twisting each one before arranging it precisely. Makoto, who runs a haute couture flower shop called Jardins des Fleurs in Tokyo, is well known for his various one-of-a-kind plant sculptures and created these fascinating sculptures as a homage to the humble leaf.
