Teka by Alessandro Squatrito

Vinci Gin-Nen - Monday, August 20, 2012

Industrial designer Alessandro Squatrito was inspired by the Vienna museum displays when he created the Teka light, intrigued by the brass microscopes and scientific instruments that were on display. The 15 OLED discs resemble the glaring headlamps used in surgery, and are contained in glass vitrines. The lights are the product of some of the latest advances in glare-free, heat-free nanotechnology, relying on organic substances such as carbon and hydrogen to emit light instead of conventional electricity. We love how science-based this lighting concept is, combining traditional display units with the very latest in technology to create something brilliant.
