Occupying the top two floors and roof of a 1920s factory in downtown San Antonio, this loft designed for an art collector by Poteet Architects, uses white as its predominant canvas as a backdrop for their various artworks and sculptures. The upper level of the loft includes a black box theatre for airing videos and a high stud gallery created by cutting away the existing concrete structure. The floors are glossy and made from luminous epoxy, whilst many of the surfaces are lacquered in keeping with the highly polished, minimalist interior. The lower level houses the various living spaces including porches in steel for outdoor living, and skylight shafts to maximise the sense of internal light. The interior also sports many pieces of classic furniture including the Egg chair by Arne Jacobsen, the Eames lounge chair & ottoman, the Arco lamp and Tulip chair among others.
