Fioriness Lamps

Anna Kidman - Tuesday, September 20, 2011

The Fioriness lamps by Laurent Corio are part of the Here&(T)here exhibition for Secondome and Fabrica at Maison&Objet in France. The lamps, which are made from hand blown glass, are the first for the Secondome design gallery. The name, Fioriness, can be roughly translated from French and Italian origins to mean 'to flirt', this is symbolised through the lean of the lamp. The lamps depict a flower, attempting to pear over the rim of a vase, the cord becomes the stalk of the flower. The translucent, glass base complements the warmth of the light, allowing it to be the main focus of the creation.
