Here's one smile inducing piece of furniture design (aided somewhat along by the little Japanese boy in the styling). Designed by Japanese studio h2200430, the balloon bench gives the impression of a bench floating, when in fact, it is suspended from the ceiling by four concealed anchor points. Inspired by Albert Lamorisse's fantasy short film, The Red Balloon produced in 1956, it brings out the child in all of us. Available here.
