At first glance, this lamp seems rather unconsidered - a jumble of sticks that houses one lone light bulb. But like its name, the Cubist Lamp by British designers Freshwest, is in fact a deconstructed version of a wooden lamp, that when viewed from a specific angle draws direct reference from the classic Anglepoise. The delicacy of the sticks, which look as though they could fall down at any point, are reminiscent of Pick-Up-Sticks, poised in careful but momentary perfection. Commissioned by Geneva-based art gallery Mitterrand+Cramer for Design Miami/Basel, it's one of the few pieces we've seen that takes its lead from Cubism.
