NZ Designed Electric MotorPod

New Zealand designer Paul Wilding has once again created a beautiful masterpiece with his new Electric MotoPod concept vehicle. The MotoPod gives the rider a complete sense of safety, speed and laid-back riding enjoyment. Designed with F1 developed carbon fibre drivers cockpit, with strategically fitted air bags ensures greater levels of protection than current motorbikes. Also protects against the elements, but with the option of 'convertible style' removable roof when desired.

To balance the motor bike at standstill, the MotoPod is fitted with a gyroscopic stability control system.
A set of sophisticated tilt sensors and 10 gyroscopic motion sensors are monitored and inputted into an intelligent control system. In the event of failure, another control board will take over- preventing the motor bike
from falling over.

The MotoPod is powered by a Lithium Ion battery and coupled to a permanent magnetic motor which gives tremendous acceleration and torque. Mated to a six speed sequential gear box with reverse gear. The battery and motor is fitted low in the carbon fibre monoque frame to increase maneuverability and lower the centre of gravity.

The MotoPod is fitted with the revolutionary Porsche designed energy recovery system. In effect the battery is primarily recharged during the application of the brakes.

The MotoPod's hubless wheel design reduces unsprung weight, and equates to fewer engineering constraints, better braking and steering.
